The difference between garment, clothes, and apparel

A garment is one of the articles or a piece of clothing we wear as a full dress, For example, lingerie, a shirt, a gown, a coat, pants, etc. This word is used mainly when talking about the production and sale of clothes.

Clothes or Clothing is a collective term for items worn on the body. Clothing can be made of textiles, animal skin, or other thin sheets of materials put together. The wearing of clothing is mostly restricted to human beings and is a feature of all human societies. Clothing refers collectively to the garments of a wearer separately pants, shirt, sweater or coat, etc.

Apparel describes the type of clothes. The intended use also. For example children’s/women’s apparel riding/sports apparel.
